BART RINKER - 1949 BUICK

Not too long ago, Bart came across a nicely restored 49 Buick Sedan in the Newport Beach area. He loved the classic look of this black beauty and purchased it. After driving the car for a little more than a year, he decided to up-date his car to a more modern drive train while maintaining the stock appearance. Having seen our work at Brizio Street Rods, he hooked up with Roy and a plan was put into action. After receiving the Buick, the first step was to remove the body from the chassis. The frame was then sent to Art Morrison Chassis’ where he duplicated a modern frame. With the frame back at our shop, we went to work on motor and trans mounts to accommodate the LS6 and 4L65E overdrive. After fuel lines, brake lines and a number of other modifications, the project was completely assembled to insure all would fit and work. The body and parts were removed, sorted for paint, and then the process of putting the car back together was started. When finished, you might not notice a change, but viewing the pictures of the assembly you will see it’s a new car. Follow along and enjoy the ride.
