Every now and then we get a project that not only is a little different; it also gets the excitement level up. The midget seen here was originally built by Pete Nielson of Milwaukee. An Offenhauser powered the racer for a number of years. After Clyde Young started racing the car, a V8 60 Ford power plant was installed. This is the way we are going to restore it. The goal is to use as much of the original sheet metal and equipment as possible. If you look at the pictures of the tail section you can see where only one side of it was replaced. Also check out the photos of the other body parts that had to be replaced. After completion, the restored racer, the scrapped parts and the history will be on display at Vaughn’s car collection.
